April is shaping up to be a great movie month. Here are the movies that I’m looking forward to seeing in April:

April 2nd Clash of the Titans

This remake of a classic film is sure to draw in a huge crowd this weekend. In this movie the the mortal son of God known as Zeus tries to stop the lords of the underworld from taking over. See this epic tale come to life in IMAX 3D. However I am skeptical about how it will look in 3D due to it not being shot with the intention of becoming a 3D movie. Still worth it to see a huge Kraken set loose on a huge IMAX screen.

April 9th Date Night

For those looking for some comedy, there is Date Night starring Steve Carell and Tina Fey as a married couple that is set in their weekly routine. They decide to spice things up and spend a night out on the town where things end up going horribly wrong. This sounds like a modern day twist on the Out-of-Towners minus the out-of-town part.

April 30th A Nightmare on Elm Street

I’m noticing a theme of remakes this month first with Clash of the Titans and then with A Nightmare on Elm Street. This re-imagining of the classic horror film will take us deeper into the psychology and beginnings of Freddy Krueger, this time played by Jackie Earle Haley (from The Watchmen).

Also out this month is Cheech & Chong’s Hey Watch This (limited release), Death at a Funeral, Kick-Ass and When You’re Strange, which chronicles 1970′s band The Doors narrated by Johnny Depp.
