Clash of the Atheists

Having cheated once again and using the magical black Pegasus (don’t ask, he just gets a magic Pegasus somehow) to fly back to the city, Perseus fights off Hades who decided to turn into bats and chase him around for awhile. Why Hades does this, nobody knows, maybe he just thought it would be cool. He could have just floated over there, grabbed the head in his god smoke form and ruled the world with it. But whatever, they needed a cool fight scene here. After all that, he then dives towards the Krakken in the nick of time, waving the head of the Medusa around like a sparkler on the fourth of July. The Krakken, after taking the entire movie to show up is waved away in seconds taking with him anything interesting in this movie.

After sitting through the awful 3D of Alice in Wonderland and thinking my head might explode before the end, I went to see Clash in good ole 2D mode. Guess what? I liked it. I thought it make a ton more sense than the 70′s version. It was a solid popcorn muncher of a ride film. I really think the post process 3D effort is hurting more than it helps. Eye strain makes you far more critical of the thing passing before your eyes. My 2 cents for what its worth. I did enjoy your drawings.

Yeah, maybe a nice 2D version would be less annoying. I think what angered me most was seeing what was removed from this film, and the last minute hacking and cutting that changed the tone of it. I don’t mind popcorn flicks, but they tinkered with this one too much and muddled it up for me. The 70′s version made less sense, but it made up for it with spirit and character. It tried harder, they only had clay to work with too!
